Hey Guys its Sly. I know i was just recently put as officer and im thankful for it. But the first problem ive heard many a time being a member for so long was, "Is this a PvE guild or PvP?" Now i never knew what to say because we have some that PvP and some that do not. Now I have been noticing that we have be TRYING to make PvP a strong aspect for the guild which is a great idea, BUT Not Everyone is a PvPer and is eligable to run GvG or HA team builds. Now Boots is doing the best she can and she HAS brought in reinforcements. But i still dont think it is enough. I honestly think we need to discuss a way to solve this problem or else we might lose alot of members due to our struggle to balance PvE with PvP. We have a number of amazing PvPers who could start a STRICT GvG team which can get us out of the embarassing ranks. I know some of you might be shocked to see me write such a mature thing but it is bugging me since i love PvE and PvP.

i agree that we need to find a way to make pvp happen, but still keep a strong pve base.

This guild is an odd mix of both pve AND people who enjoy pvp activities.

Unfortunately....other than a very few, most have not shown the willingness to put in the effort.....the sheer hard work and PRACTICE that is neccesary to make up a GVG or an HA team....

I see Uda, Ubs, Devil, and Boo growing more and more discouraged day by day......along with a few of the "true PVPers" that continue to occupy this guild....

The problem is not a new one. In fact....it goes back to Wargods PVP team......
A sheer lack of good TEAM skills......

This does not reflect on our leaders.....as I have had SEVERAL leaders....myself included.....and the problem has remained throughout.

People don't want to practice, they want their own builds, no, can't come now.....(but 30 mins afterr the leader has given up people show up yelling..."aren't we gonna GVG???????")

It is, to say the least, the VERY least, frustrating.......

Are we a PVP guild? No.

COULD we be???? of course...but t will take hard work and dedication to the TEAM.....more than to SELVES.....

Think about it....

Thank you both for the compliments. And yes I and the others are growing very discouraged. Well me more than them, they would rather just have me leave guild and pvp with them somewhere else. Simply because of what they have seen and heard. I log on daily and am actually surpised Devil and Boo are still here to be honest. Ubs might wait till I was on but not sure on that one.

What I am hearing and seeing:
1. NO motivation. There is no motivation to work together and win. I hear and see pvpers giving up on guild. That we cant get a team together for anything.
2. NO teamwork. The reason I did a byob was to prove a point. To which to some learned that point. If everyone just brings whatever they want to gvg and not have the experience of team then it is a sure loss! Yes Boo, Ubs, Devil and myself have won with byob, may a times, but we also dont just see our bar but how will my build effect others. When I go into these gvgs I usually bring ranger or ele. Ranger with crip shot for snaring to make the front line job easier, poison to degen and use up monks energy (if new monks), interrupts to mess with casters. All this works as a team build... less heals from interrupts more kills. On ele I take well used to SF build or lately SH gank type build. But have either wards or draw conditions for drawing off frontline. If I wanted to have a self sustaining build I have those for ab. Even pvping together as much as we have we still ping our bars for suggestions. Monks work together, midline work together then front... but all focusing on the team.

Frontliners (would be your warriors, dervish and even sin), call targets... basic your front line of offense and defense

Midliners (mesmer, ranger, ele, para) strip enchants, interrupt, condition, snare, monk support, protect the back line while supporting the front.

Backline (monks, rits) your lifeline basically.

Solo is the runner/ganker/base defender.

Problem is I dont see this. I see warriors overextending without letting monks know. I see monks running up to frontline. I see people not on target (t space people!). What I am seeing is a bunch of abers or 1v1 that think they know it all (no offense but being honest). There are those that are getting better but lack either experience or knowledge. But are either too stubborn to listen or on a ego trip that they cant learn anything.
3. The chatter on vent. OMG I am personally sick of this. During a match yes there should be some talk but about the MATCH! Things like "SPIKE" or "This in 3 2 1! KILL IT NOW" "I have <insert hex> on me" Seriously now do I really wanna know about some silly thing that happened while I am pvping..NO! Do I wanna hear burbs, giggles and other assorted BS. NO! Do I wanna hear the strat caller? YES! Do I wanna have to shout over some dumb*** on vent to get info to strat caller or frontline? F NO! To me personally it is being disrespectful to me and basically telling me that what I am trying to say is not important. Which I have been tolerant and trying not to lose my temper but its gone. Warnings have been given, if anyone is not willing to listen to instructions or strat/caller or team members about Match.. they are done with me!

These are just the surface of my frustrations. I gave my word I would try but my temper is wearing thin. This "teddy bear", as Devil called me is about to go Grizzly.
*end of rant*

As for pvp/pve guild... Shiz was and has been both. The gvg team was something to try out for. Sure we would do a few with people that wanted to learn but the serious stuff was left to team members only. I dont feel I have the right to do that in this guild.

And yes I have beaten all the games with heros and hench mainly, on most of my characters. So I too pve but sometimes I just wanna have a different challenge than red dots. So I pvp, and then hang with my pvp friends that I help with pve.

Okay think I have hijacked this topic enough. What was the question?

i agree that we are infact a pve guild, and it seems that almost every pveer has about no enthusiasm to pvp, like its some god forsaken thing that us "sinners" do. also, i noticed that there arent ever really enough people that want to play, so the few people who do usually go HEROway, which is depressing for us people who walk in late, to make it short, i feel left out and like i have to prove myself to do anything in this guild. im not gonna lie, thats how i feel. i wish this sort of thing didnt happen, but what can i do? i dont know, im just tired of doing solo ra crap all day, listening to people gvg in vent, and others bitch about how they need help with some dumb quest. i find pve to be absolutely disguisting, since you could create a max level character and use some skill to run a pvp build. also, in regards to the problems with gvging, it wasnt just someone not listening, it was a not listening as a group, and sometimes there were leaders who werent being very leaderlike, and other people had to step up to prevent a slaughter. also, it wouldnt be such a bad idea to try new builds and work together with Team Builder, considering our rank is so....um....not great. flame me as much as you like, thats what i had to say.
with all due respect,

To be fair, today the only time we seemed to be getting spikes through was when Devil was singing. Or when I was yelling at him to stop being bad.

Me, Devil, Boo, and Uda talk a lot about seemingly nothing during gvg's, but at the same time we call important things. You must learn to balance the two, or just don't talk.

It seems like the members that are in the guild seem they are just trying to be in a "Guild". I think we should start contacting IG friends and people you know IRL. We could start recruiting some PvP experts or PvP only players.(Example-Ubs), or get 2 OiC of GvG West Coast and a East coast. Because I know when I am getting home from school it is 4 which is 7 on east and GvG has ended or only 1 not enough players on. I am sure I am not the only one who has time problems. Lots of West Coast schools end 3-4pm which doesn't give us much time to interact or PvP with the Guild One thing that might help us becoming a "Bigger, better and more active" PvP guild, is to have GvG-TA-HA classes twice a day. Ex- *Name of Event* Practice, *Which Prof or any*, and time(Have Pac and East time) 6pm 9pm East, 3pm 6pm West. If anyone has something to say back to me just feel free PM'ing me game.

Thanks, Warrior

1. Agree with not listening as a group. Guess I didnt point that out. Oops, it was what I meant.

2. Leaders not being leaderlike? other poeple had to step up to prevent slaughter?
If you are refering to byob. I made my point perfectly clear at least to me. STOP WITH THE AB BUILDS! I let everyone bring whatever they want which is normally what happens anyway. And we were wiped. Guess I should have stopped and pulled a Ubs and asked "Now why did we lose?"
Yes I let King and Nan take over on some. Personally I am so frustrated with trying to get people to take me seriously that at times it isnt good for me to say things. We do have a non cuss rule in guild and trust me, Boo and Ubs have gotten some pm full of cuss words.
King: reason I did was to see what he knew. He is old school. Needs to catch up with skill updates and such but since he quit for a year that is understandable.
Nan: pst.. he is the one that is the officer of this guild for pvp. I am a filler.
So anything else to say about that?

3. I have asked for any ideas or suggestions. And no touchers is not a option. Here is a good idea. Start a channel in team builder. Maybe put link in here, put it on announcement. GOGOGOGOGOGO.. I have so many that some are outdated. (lol shiz had several) But dont use Devil's without permission from him or Ubs. They maybe working on something.
That is if you know the channel.

Ubs is correct. We did great even with Devil singing, people coming into a pvp channel yelling "We gvging??" But not listening to me when I said yes. Doing one now.

But there is a difference I am going to add. Ubs, we (as in the 4 of us) have been a team for a while now. You know I will fail with heros because frankly I forget I have them. You know that if it is anyway possible I will be on target unless dead or on other side of map. I know that as monks, you guys will cover me unless dead or pressured. That is part of what makes us great. We trust each other. What does that have to do with vent, you may ask? Well it has to do with us playing as a team. Yes we can chatter and still get spikes off, but again we are a TEAM. Will say that I think the only time our brainless chatter costs us a gvg was when I moaned to get everyone to hush so we could hear Ubs instructions. To say the least I should have done something else. Not even sure how much fighting happened in that gvg. If any!
My point is, I dont know you guys that well. My main problem is talking over you all. If or even When this guild pulls together as a team and everyone knows what is expected of them then go for it.. chatter you head off. Mean by expected is, everyone knows positions, positioning, jobs has skills and works as a team.

Okay rambled enough. We "chatter" because we are a team and can.

/deep breath
Okay dear. I had set up a "class" with Ubs to learn basics gvg 101 but he had to cancel. So as I posted in forums, changed it to learn Maps. Since people were planning Icon_confused3 on coming to Ubs talk figured instead of being a waste of time we could go to different halls and learn
a. where flag spawns
b. where flag stand is
c. where is the back ways into base
d. catapult 101
e. hazards

Now I could just ask if anyone knows which halls has 2 cap points? I doubt I would get a answer without people actually looking. But instead of people coming to a thing or event that was scheduled. I see names lit up but no response. So yes figured I am being ignored.

Also I can tell you are fairly new to pvp. Recruiting pvpers into a pve guild/alliance that is LOL. I came because we had just left a pvp alliance that broke up. (This is how pvp goes. Here today gone tomorrow.) Queen and I talked and I met up with Phase. (well Sil was in on it) Was informed that alliance was interested in pvp but were mainly pvers. Took the risk of losing my pvpers and came in. Most pvp only people dont like to hang with pvers.

My honest suggestion to anyone and everyone is OBSERVATION. GW has observe. I think I posted this elsewhere. But go watch HA or gvg with top guilds. Learn where your character should be as related to rest of team. There are some things that cant be taught... I can scream at you for hours about overextending, staying on target or whatever but watching others sometimes help. Cant really watch while doing.

Now for my feelings.

I maybe wrong but no one has yet to prove me otherwise. But I get the feeling that I am not being taken seriously because I am a female. I have to shout over people but if King or one of my guys comes on everyone listens up, well after Boo screams. I have yet to have one of my suggestions for team be done. I call for balanced I get sin spike. Thing is Why?????????????????????????? Icon_confused3 Icon_feeling_beat_up

I would say this is definitely a PvE guild atm. I think one of the main causes of our PvP problems is lack of participation(like tote said), and people not listening to instructions well. We don't know how to work as a team. I agree with Uda with the observe thing, if you've never seen a guild match before you don't really know what to do

SHAPE UP, you guys......

I disagree that the problem is that Uda is a woman.....but more in the fact that you are all treating her like a FRIEND, a BUDDY, a PAL.....

Instead of a GVG LEADER.....

as of now....DROP the name BOOTS......and start treating her w/ the respect that she DESERVES...and has EARNED.....

Folks....if you think I'm kidding......TRY ME.....

I am SOOO TIRED of going through GVG leaders...CANNOT do it myself.....and I am seeing this entire GVG group....(Uda, Ubs, Devil, Boo) grow more discouraged day by day....

RESPECT your leader(s).....
TEAMWORK...ALL the way.......
and this WILL be FUN....REALLY it will....

Just a little update... WE WON one. btw nice rangering kev! And sweet eleing Tote! And I was a good mesmer, forgot how much fun that is. But of course Devil and Ubs. Pst.. agree Ubs if he would have left the monk we would have taken guild lord then.

And maybe you are right Queen. I have been more forgiving than I guess I should be. Part of it is we dont have enough gvgers for me to be so picky. Well on some days.

it was alot better than before. i mean, we DID have 3 hero monks (correct me if im wrong) and we did OK. the spikes were a little slow, and that damn warrior just didnt die(if you watched the gvg later, you saw he only had like 8 health when he was running) i think along with the spikes, we need to learn to call when theres someone more dangerous than a monk about or something. like for example, if a SP sin is hating on a monk they would call BS or some type of anti-melee to help them out, following a code like colors or something. something tight for each occasion to keep us good at what we do, and quick witted about it, with all due respect that is.
