You stay up for 16 hours
He stays up for days on end.
You take a warm shower to help you wake up.
He goes days or weeks without running water.
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.
He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.
He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
You walk down the beach, staring at all the good looking girls/guys
He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He doesn't get to eat today.
Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.
You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.
You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying around him.
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.
You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.
You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.
He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.
If you don't support your troops well, then don't. You won't die in 7 days, your love life won't be affected, and you won't have the worst day ever. You don't have to support them. It's not like you know the men and women that are dying to preserve your rights. _________________ I dont just beat people in scrimages, I brutally pwn them till they cant handle it anymore, then I pass them to a friend who then gets sloppy seconds b/c thats the way he likes it. |

here is a story for you guys......I kinda thought it belonged in this thread......
'You could have heard a pin drop'
When in England,
at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked
by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq
were just an example of empire building by George Bush.
He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the United States
has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril
to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of
land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those
that did not return.'
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a conference in France where a number
of international engineers were taking part, including
French and American. During a break, one of the French
engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you
heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent
an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims.
What does he intended to do, bomb them?'
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly:
'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat
several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can
supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they
have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people
three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons
of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a
dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured
to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships;
how many does France have?'
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference
that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian,
Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception,
he found himself standing with a large group of Officers
that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they
sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly
complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages,
Americans learn only English.' He then asked, 'Why is it
that we always have to speak English in these conferences
rather than speaking French?'
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied
'Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and
Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...
Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in
Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to
locate his passport in his carry on. 'You have been to France
before, monsieur?' the customs officer asked sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.
'Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.'
The American said, "'The last time I was here, I didn't
have to show it.
"Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports
on arrival in France!' stated the customs officer.
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard
look. Then he quietly explained, "'Well, when I came ashore
at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country,
I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to.'
You could have heard a pin drop. _________________
just thought this kind of fit into the thread, its this poem made by an anonymous(did i spell it right?) video creator dood. I have a link to the video if you guys want it, Though you may need to create a quick little "youtube-like" account.
Where angels play our men are pawns, armed with death they hunt the weak, where angels play they also fall, to be forgotten and replaced,
War does not choose a winner or looser, there is no right side, some might believe it is when you die that you win, it is then, you can truely go where angels play. _________________ "Before all else, be armed."
